Our Mission

I spent years selling digital books on eBay and my own books on Amazon. At some point I started building collections, themed bundles of books around a subject, and they sold. That part worked.

But it was bad for me mentally. I was moving so fast that I never actually stopped to think about what I was selling. I would get the title right, write a decent description, list it, and move on. It was a business. It was not helping anyone learn anything.

People would message me constantly asking if I could get them a specific book, a particular author, a subject they cared about, or something they had been looking for for years. And I could not do it. eBay would not let me go outside the platform to source specific titles. And they blocked me from accessing buyer emails, so I could not even follow up properly or build any kind of real relationship with the people who were actually buying from me.

People were buying USBs with books on them. They received exactly what the listing said. No refunds, they got what they paid for. But that always bothered me. Not because it was wrong by the rules, but because I knew the person on the other end was not getting the full value of what they actually wanted. They wanted to learn something specific. They got a USB with a few hundred books they may or may not care about.

That is when I decided to do something different. Something where someone could actually tell me what they want and I could actually listen.

OFFREADS is the result of 6 years of collecting. These are my personal collections. Every subject in here is something I found worth keeping. Business, history, medicine, engineering, philosophy, psychology, law. Every collection started because I thought it mattered.

They are not perfect. Some have gaps I know about. Some I would organise differently if I started today. But they are real. I picked every book. No AI-generated lists, no scraping whatever was available and calling it a collection.

I launched OFFREADS this year. I have not made money yet. That is fine. What I have now is something that was not possible on eBay, a place where someone can actually reach me and say: I want a collection on this topic, can you build it? And I can say yes. Or I can say I need time. But the conversation is possible now. That matters to me more than the money right now.
